Today’s Startup Journal entry is all about something that makes your business feel official: your website.
I’m Craig Stephens, founder of City Edition Printing & Design, and on Day 9 of building City Edition Design, I focused on getting my business online.
💡 Website or Landing Page — What’s the Difference?
If you already have a website (like I do), just create a dedicated landing page for your new venture.
If you’re starting from scratch, here’s what you’ll need:
✅ 3 Things You Need to Get Online:
- A Domain Name
This is your web address — keep it simple and brand-aligned.
Example: cityeditiondesign.com or yourbiz.ai - A Hosting Provider
- For full websites: Bluehost, SiteGround, GoDaddy
- For all-in-one solutions: Wix or WordPress.com
- Many offer domain + hosting bundles for under $100/year
- A Simple Page
Include your business name, what you do, a way to contact you, and links to social media.
🧰 Tools I Recommend:
- WordPress: Great for customization and blogs
- Wix: Fast and beginner-friendly
- Carrd: Perfect for landing pages
- Canva Website Builder: Surprisingly effective for basic pages
🚀 Bottom Line:
Don’t wait for perfect. One clean page with your message and contact link beats no page at all.
Tomorrow I’ll share how to use that page to start collecting leads and building your audience — even before you launch a product.
